About the event

Eddie Lee

Eddie Lee, also known as “Mr. 2 Sides,” is a vibrant personality in the music industry. His journey began as a songwriter, and he quickly gained recognition, collaborating with esteemed artists such as Bobby Valentino, Mechie So Crazy, and Dj Buttah.  Continuously searching for other creative endeavors led the rising performing artist, songwriter, and community advocate to start making strides in his own right. In 2021, he released his first solo EP, “IDKHTHF,” which gained over 70,000 streams.  He has since followed up with countless releases and has seen the most success with his latest EP, “NOIR” (2023), which peaked at number 6 on the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap Charts and number 42 across all genres this past November.  Looking to build on his accomplishments, Eddie Lee plans to show the world he is here to stay, bringing you into his world through the “ChOOse TwO” musical showcase.

TrUth Speaks Volumes

Shannon “TrUth Speaks Volumes,” Newman was born in Washington DC. Raised in Prince George’s County, MD. Shannon grew up singing in the church choir and playing piano. In Elementary school, Shannon found a love for poetry and later in life, she turned her poems into lyrics. In 2019, Shannon adopted the artist’s name “TrUth” and released the well-received single “So Good pt. 2,” highlighting her ability to create R&B music. That same year, she also released a mixtape called “This Side,” displaying her lyrical skills by rapping over popular beats at the time. In 2022, TrUth reemerged on the DMV music scene as “TrUth Speaks Volumes,” releasing her single “Moment/UnMute The Mic,” which doubled as a welcome back to music, as well as the introduction of her new company, UnMute The Mic.

TrUth also broke into film when she executive produced and directed two documentaries (Moment and Still My Moment) on DMV professional boxer Francois Scarboro Jr. Both films included music from TrUth, including her hit single, “Myself feat. Jay 28,” which won the 93.9 WKYS Versus battle, hosted by Little Bacon Bear. On October 1, 2022, TrUth won “Best Musician” at the DMV Renaissance Awards, and for a second time in fall 2023.

TrUth’s recent contribution, “TrUth Be Told (EP),” a collaborative project with DMV producer Solo James, was released on June 12, 2024. The 4-track project gave fans a new perspective of TrUth as she let them into her inner thoughts as an artist trying to make her way. Songs like “Moonlight,” and “TrUth be Told,” showcase TrUth’s storytelling and authenticity. While “Show Em,” is a high-energy track that highlights her capability to hang among the top lyricists. TrUth Speaks Volumes’ music can be found on all streaming platforms.

Nia Dinero

Emerging onto the scene, Nia Dinero defies easy categorization. Her raw talent has graced numerous local and regional stages, including as a radio personality on WNSB Hot 91.1 at Norfolk State University. Nia showcases lyrical poise and advocacy marked by edginess, sophistication, and excellence. Her music, with over 85,000 YouTube views, has resonated on DMV radio stations such as 93.9 WKYS and WPGC 95.5. She was featured on “Great Day Washington” and made history as one of the first artists to perform at the Smithsonian Anthology of Hip Hop and Rap’s first anniversary at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
